An action plan for equal opportunities

In 2010 Avventura Urbana worked for the Municipality of Arezzo in the drafting of the Gender Balance Sheet with a view to the actions envisaged by the approval of the “Action Plan of the European Charter for Equality and Parity of Women and Men in Local Life”.

The drafting of the budget provided a tool for assessing the impact on gender in municipal policies, according to criteria of equity, efficiency and transparency.

The participatory process developed on several levels: political (City Council, council commissions including the council commission on Times, Rights, Participation, Equal Opportunities), technical (Internal Committee for Gender Analysis) and popular (External Consultation for Equal Opportunities, made with a group of around 40 volunteer citizens), and concluded with a descriptive document for the purposes of dissemination and final presentation.
