PIARC Italy conference: how to take better and faster decisions on public works

In 2023, Avventura Urbana worked with PIARC – Italian National Committee, Anas Spa, the Order of Engineers of the Province of Rome and the National Council of Engineers to organise a conference entitled “Public Works: Decide better and faster. Public debate – an initial assessment of our consultations”.

The PIARC conference was an opportunity to take stock of experiences with public debate starting from the implementation of the 2016 legislation.

During the seminar, speakers included representatives of the National Public Debate Commission and large infrastructure management companies, experts in environmental law, participation and conflict mediation professionals, and representatives of environmental and civil society associations.

The conclusions drawn highlighted new initiatives to support the continuation and optimisation of community participation and listening activities.
