Between nature and culture

The ‘Tra natura e cultura’ project, for which the Municipality of San Giovanni Valdarno was awarded 9.5 million euros of ERDF funding, works along the two main axes of the town’s urban development: the historic centre and the river Arno. Five sites have been identified for transformation: work is planned on the chiassi (the alleyways), on Palazzo Corboli, on the Arno embankments and the Arno Park, on the former nursery school in Via Milano and on Viale Gramsci, as part of an overall programme of urban, environmental, infrastructural, social and cultural regeneration.

Avventura Urbana is running the process of involving the local community, which is needed to define the planned works in detail.
