Casermette Rocciamelone in Usseglio

The project to redevelop and repurpose the Casermette Rocciamelone in Usseglio aims to create a social and educational hub for the Viù Valley and for the whole of the Lanzo Valleys. The project brought the main local institutions on board and, in 2019, a partnership was formed between the Friends of the Alpine Civic Museum of Usseglio, the Municipality of Usseglio, the Politecnico di Torino, the University of Turin, UNCEM and the Valli di Lanzo, Caronda and Cisternone Local Action Group, with the aim of creating a place the whole community can identify with.

Avventura Urbana designed a process that led to a participatory discussion with social workers from the Lanzo Valleys and from across the region, to identify the functions the complex should host and the management models best suited to its environmental, social and economic sustainability.
