Deliberative process

In line with the most recent European Recommendations on participation, we design and manage deliberative processes to address complex decisions and policies by involving citizens and stakeholders. We use advanced techniques to select participants, including the best sortition methods, in order to ensure inclusion and representativeness.

Since the early 2000s we have been pioneers in running deliberative processes in Italy and across Europe, working alongside leading international experts. Among the methods we have used are the Electronic Town Meeting, the Citizens’ Jury and the Deliberative Poll.

The deliberative processes we have run have contributed to:

• more transparent and better-informed decisions, through the direct involvement of the people those policies affect;
• more concrete and workable solutions, supported by expert scrutiny and input;
• more collaborative relationships, built on structured and participatory discussion.
