Urban regeneration

For over 30 years we have supported local authorities in developing shared policies for towns and neighbourhoods, using innovative methods that put the needs of communities at the centre. Our aim is to improve the quality of services, enhance the beauty and sustainability of urban spaces and bring about genuine social transformation.

Participatory design

Through innovative techniques such as participatory urban planning and urban art, we take a non-invasive, experimental approach to regenerating spaces. Our initiatives actively involve schools, citizens and neighbourhood associations, making residents the protagonists of their city’s transformation.

The benefits of our approach:

  • gradual introduction of change, based on the real needs of citizens;
  • greater liveability of places, with a limited financial commitment;
  • development of social capital and collaboration between public and private institutions and non-profit organisations.

Regeneration with social and economic impact

In partnership with Open Impact, we have developed a dedicated service for regenerating disused assets, or assets at risk of falling into disuse, based on participatory impact-based governance.

By combining participatory tools with impact assessment methods, we help public bodies build financial ecosystems and management groups with a strong social impact, giving urban spaces a new lease of life.

With our service it is possible to:

  • define the social impact sought from the regeneration project, supporting the administration through every stage of the procurement process needed to achieve it;
  • identify parties interested in providing sustainable services for the new space, with the right balance between social impact and the creation of economic value;
  • co-design the management and repurposing model for the spaces, using co-design tools and precise impact calculations;
  • continuously monitor the results of management and ongoing activities through the Impact Call digital platform, making adjustments where needed through mutual learning sessions.
