Drafting of the Law on Public Participation in Tuscany

In 2006 the Region of Tuscany decided to promote a participatory process for the elaboration of the first regional law on participation in Italy.

Through the use of various participatory instruments, including the electronic Town Meeting, the process represented the first legislative process characterized by a participative approach in each one of its steps: from its proposal to its approval. Once the process was concluded, the legal text was approved by the Region, which integrated the changes proposed by the citizens.
